Every month I make videos about celebrities, fashion and beauty. Its a lot of fun. But I’m alway searching for the silver lining, the human story – the one comment that reminds us that these individuals eat, sleep and suffer like the rest of us. This month I interviewed Katie Holmes about many things. But one thing she said about her daughter really struck me. When asked what beauty tip she would pass onto her daughter, Katie replied “to find happiness in everything.” It might sound simplistic, but when you think about it – happiness truly is where beauty radiates from. In a product and image obsessed culture, its a great piece of advice from a beautiful woman who we all know has had a hell of a year.
Back in October Esquire magazine made official what everyone knows already – that Mila Kunis is the sexiest woman alive. When I asked her about this status (in my latest interview for Allure magazine) she just laughed…at me. Sort of. Kunis, it seems, has fielded the question about her “sexiest woman alive” status so many times by now that it must be amusing to simply listen to the variety of approaches. I tried dead pan. But she just cracked up. “It just makes me laugh because people like to say it and they’re so serious about it.” She has a point.
What makes Mila sexy isn’t just her big eyes (which are different colors by the way) or the slew of other slavic features she was blessed with. What makes her sexy is that she’s down to earth about it all and that she managed a genuine and humble answer to my very unoriginal question.
Whatever your opinion of her, I bet you’ll find her sweeter and funnier than you ever expected.

Its been over 10 years since Vanity Fair did an entire issue devoted to Television. But with TV’s Second Wave officially upon us the idea was a no brainer. And it doesn’t hurt that the current slate of TV stars include a number of the most beautiful women (and men) on earth … many of whom are just starting incredibly promising careers.

Nothing like teaming up with old friends to create exciting new work!!
UK singing sensation Niko and I go all the way back to the first grade in Seattle. None-the-less, I was honored when she called me in to direct the music video for her new single “The Daddy” featuring NYC hip-hop legends Q-Ball and Curt Cazal. Although the the ATIC Records siren calls the UK home, there was only one place to shoot this video: the streets, alleys and bridges of New York City.

I spent the day with the newly single “New Girl” Zooey Deschanel and got her take on fashion, haircuts and music. Despite clowning me for not knowing shit about women’s beauty products, Zooey was lovely to work with, down to earth and had A GREAT PLAYLIST for the photoshoot. AND the photos (Norman Jean Roy) are great!
